ABSTRACT

Retrocaval ureter is a rare congenital anomaly that is associated with recurrent urinary tract infections. In this clinical case report we diagnose a patient with a circumcaval ureter. The patient underwent laparoscopic ureteral anteposition with a successful outcome. In México, open surgery remains the most common procedure for retrocaval ureter repair. However, laparoscopic surgery offers a better prognosis and outcome for patients with this disease.
