ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE
Prove the incidence of neurosensorial hearing loss of high frequencies in diabetics patients.
MATERIAL AND METHOD
prospective study, in a population of 40 both sex patients (20 diabetics and 20 not diabetics, control group). Both groups were subjected to different laboratory, cabinet and ophthalmic valuation study.
RESULTS
It showed that the high frequency tone audiometer overcomes the conventional tone audiometer, due its sensibility allowed to determine in early way audiologics change much before than the conventional tone audiometer which it achieves in routine way. No doubt, the hyperglycemia produces damage in the auditory system, which if it is not reversible neither preventable, we can achieve the prolongation in its apparition with medicament that help us to improve the microcirculation in that level and with the general care of the ear.
