ABSTRACT
Intensitive care units are considered such high-risk places, the use of protective equipments in those deparments is taking account as a heathcare measure to reduce multidrug-resistant microrganisms transmission; the isolation gown is one of the protective equipment used for this objective. Several trials have estudied the effectiveness of isolation gown like a protective device. Its use is indicated for both high-risk of contamination and invasive procedures. The inadequate use of isolation gowns might be become in a transmission route for hospital-acquired infections. The mechanisms and transmission route of the hospital-acquired infections are a high-impact problem that it is necessary to do another trials to know more about.
