ABSTRACT
Introduction: Drugs and their consequences have become one of the most worrying issues in Ecuadorian society. Faced with its vertiginous development, Ecuador has adopted many alternatives, but still persists, especially in educational scenarios. Objective: To carry out a previous qualitative study to design a pedagogical strategy of intervention for reduction and prevention drug consumption from Physical Education area. Methods: We studied 40 students belonging to group with greatest drug problems of studied educational institution, assuming a non-experimental, descriptive design with transversal approach. For the previous analysis, five professionals from the educational institution (three physical education teachers and two managers) are surveyed. The proposal was evaluated by 10 specialists. Results: The results allowed the design of a pedagogical strategy for treatment of the relevant variable from the context of Physical Education, whose singularity lies in its approach to school, family and community integration, in accordance with a general objective and four closely related phases. The validation of the proposal was made through the specialist's criterion, being this one valid with 100 % of coincidences. Conclusions: Through validation through by specialist’s consultation, it was determined that the pedagogical strategy is highly necessary for prevention and reduction of drug consumption from the physical education area.
