Critical evaluation of the program of the discipline Pharmacology of the Medicine career

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the curricular improvement is a permanent task of Higher Education, with the aspiration of forming a professional that responds to the demands of our society. Objective: to carry out a systematic critique of the current program of the Pharmacology discipline of the Medicine career. Method: qualitative research was carried out, using the theoretical method based on qualitative techniques such as the documentary review of the Pharmacology discipline program, as well as the criteria of the authors with experience in the teaching of said program. Results: there are insufficiencies in its foundation, as well as in some components of the teaching and learning process in the teaching program such as the objectives, content system, evaluation system and methodological guidelines; however, its relevance and relevance is given in the expression in pedagogical language and social expectation, of the skills that are necessary to develop in the student to form a professional with quality. Conclusions: the program of the discipline has scientific, pedagogical and didactic validity, which is expressed in its formative value. As an organizational basis of the teaching-learning process of the discipline can be refined, based on the work of the disciplines, subjects and career in the subsystem of Cuban Higher Medical Education.
