ABSTRACT
Virtual planning in orthognathic surgery is useful to optimize results both in the improvement of surgical times, the use of surgical guides guided by occlusion is the basis for greater stability of our jaw segments after the osteotomy and to prevent recurrences or generate occlusal alterations. Currently, virtual surgery takes us one step further in the virtual management of our patients, eliminating those guides, supplementing them with the pre-casting of the plates with which we will stabilize the maxilla, taking it to the ideal position, which reduces steps in our surgical procedure, and therefore improving the surgical time, with better aesthetic results. The case is about a 34-year-old female patient who has a diagnosis of dentofacial deformity class III which is performed orthognathically by Le Fort I osteotomy in advance with virtual planning taking the maxilla to its ideal position with the elimination of occlusal surgical guides and the use of personalized plates, with the previously established distance in our virtual planning.
