ABSTRACT
Rome, the great empire, had its conquests, its expansion, its majestic constructions and its emperors and had, in addition, its medicine. Roman medicine was essentially Greek, but the Romans made three fundamental contributions: military hospitals, environmental sanitation and the legislation of medical practice and teaching. The Romans made great use of Traditional and Natural Medicine. They stood out as doctors Galeno and Celso, who made great contributions that extend to the present.
