ABSTRACT
Trichobezoars are an uncommon condition that usually occurs in young women with a history of trichotillomania and trichophagia. At present, the majority of cases present in patients with a history of gastric surgery, or with alterations in pyloric function. Clinically may be asymptomatic for months or years or present as an acute entity accompanied by its complications. This article presents the clinical case of a 9-year-old girl diagnosed with gastroduodenal tricobezoar, Rapunzel syndrome (a complex variety of this bezoar involving the stomach, duodenum and intestine.
