ABSTRACT
A literature review of materials available in electronic journals Scielo database is performed, as well as books and other websites that address the issue of aging and osteoporosis, considering today, one of the biggest problems facing humanity is the aging population and the impact on all spheres of society in relation to this group and in particular the social impact of osteoporosis, listed by the World Health Organization (WHO) as an epidemic of the XXI century. The social impact of osteoporosis, especially in the elderly is reflected, thus covering two of the problems affecting today's world and our country that despite its underdevelopment presenting indicators such as life expectancy regions corresponding to the first world.
