ABSTRACT
A case-control study was conducted to identify risk factors for pregnancy in adolescence in Emilio Daudinot University Polyclinic, 2013. The universe was composed of 42 teenagers pregnancies selected during that year (cases) and the double of adolescents who never were pregnant, (86 controls). Socio-demographic, knowledge and variables were analyzed. The information was obtained by a previously validated survey. The results expressed in double entry tables. Odds ratio and confidence intervals were estimated. The relationship between pregnant teenagers between 15 and 19 years old were significant, being a student, single, being three times more likely that a teenager with these characteristics become pregnant despite knowing the contraceptive methods. It is recommended to design an educational intervention program that could modify the knowledge of the adolescents.
