Listeriosis in a pregnant at the Intensive Care unit. Case presentation

ABSTRACT
A case study of a female patient of 27 years old, black, with obstetrical history and no -two pregnancies childbirth and abortion was presented. She was admitted in the service at the Intensive Care unit with 24.1 weeks gestation to present fever, when making decision of the general state hepatosplenomegaly, jaundice and catarrhal manifestations with signs of acute respiratory failure were detected. In microbiological studies a bacillus spore-forming Gram Positive not proving to be a Listeria Monocytogenes resistant to antimicrobial therapy traditionally used for these cases, causing multiple organ failure and isolated. She underwent treatment which evolved satisfactorily, being transferred to the service of perinatology at 10 days. A brief review of the entity was also made of the presentation of the case.
