Incidence of cervical cancer in the University Polyclinic 'Omar Ranedo Pubillones' of Guantanamo

ABSTRACT
A descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out to characterize the behavior of cervical cancer in patients from the University Polyclinic "Omar Ranedo Pubillones" in 2016. The universe consisted of 546 patients diagnosed with cancer and a sample of 61 patients diagnosed with cervical cancer. Among the studied variables were selected: age, risk factors, diagnosis of the disease, and knowledge of the cytological test. The main results were: age group prevailed between 40 and 59 years, the risk factors that were identified smoking and the high incidence of sexually transmitted infections. It was shown that the highest percentage of women had knowledge about the frequency of the cytological test.
