ABSTRACT
This article describes the ongoing research developed by the Center of Studies of Youth, titled «Cuban adolescents and youths in a family and couple context». It provides the results of the questionnaires applied in the provinces of Havana and Artemisa to adolescents and youths between 12 and 34 years old. They allow to predict some behaviours that, from the point of view of these populations, characterize the interactions with their relatives and couples. Main results allow to affirm the presence of differentiated behaviours in adolescents and youths concerning the existence of gender stereotypes in interactions of girls and boys with their families and couples. Differences by sex and age groups are noted in the following topics: the interactions prevailing in the family context, topics related to sexuality debated in the family space, couple stability, ideas concerning contraceptive methods and their use, opinions about voluntary pregnancy interruption, life projects within the couples, and planned maternity and paternity. The final outcomes indicate that experiences in a family and couple context have a great importance for these populations. It is thus essential to identify and modify those interactions that potentially may affect the integral development of the selected age groups.
