ABSTRACT
Hypoactive sexual desire disorder is a complex sexual dysfunction with a tendency to be located in the biogenic etiology. Therefore, the design of its care protocol is decided, through an applied descriptive research, in order to homogenize its multidisciplinary approach. The Cuban scientific method of clinical care to this disorder is so provided in the three levels of health care—primary, secondary and tertiary. The literature of the last five years in the Scielo, Clinical Key and Pubmed databases was reviewed, the Manuals of Good Practices in Spain and Europe were obtained, and the clinical experience of the authors was incorporated. The working group agreed that supplementary examinations are mandatory for all cases requiring attention. The therapeutic recommendations were as follows. The specialists of Integral General Medicine should not treat this disorder. When identified, they should refer the person to the municipal group of attention to sexual health. It is responsible to review medical diseases and consumption of drugs affecting the desire in order to ponder its substitution. The municipal, provincial and national groups are in charge of implementing the sexological treatment, with two variants—one for the short-term disorder, without aversing components, with the strengthening of sexual fantasies as central axis; the other for long-term disorder, with systematic desensitization through training in progressive approach and/or systematic desensitization in the imagination.
