Female sexual dysfunctions and related psychosocial factors in a group of presumably healthy women

ABSTRACT
Objective. Determine the particularities of female sexual dysfunctions and related pychosocial factors in a group of presumably healthy women studied at the Center of Mental Health during the period of 2001-2014. Methods. Descriptive study of a group of qualitative and quantitative researches done to 209 presumably healthy women, aged 19 to 64, working in places assisted by the Center of Mental Health. They were studied by using questionnaires certificated between 2001 and 2014, and by using focal groups technique in researches between 2003 and 2005. Variables as age, academic standard and marital status were controlled. The data collected were stored in a database, and statistics tables were done with distributions of frequency and percentages. Results. Sexual dysfunctions such as hypo-active sexual desire, anorgasmy, dyspareunia and mixed ones were identified. And labor and partner problems, and lack of privacy and sexual information were referred to. Conclusions. The existence of hidden demands of sexual dysfunction was shown, and hypoactive sexual desire was the most frequent disorder. Psychosocial factors related to sexual dysfunction were identified. And sexual malaise and violence not related by women to sexual disorders were revealed.
