ABSTRACT
Aging is a dream for all loving life. Aware that aging is an irreversible process in the Cuban population, because the old folks of 2025 already walk through the archipelago, the sanitary authorities get ready for the long career of welcoming every time more and more old men and women. Informing them about the current conceptions about sexual diversity is our responsibility. Aims. Contributing an educational intervention to elevate the level of knowledge about sexual diversity in old men and women attending special university classes for senior citizens in the municipality of Bauta during September and February 2014. Methodology. A study of investigation-development, almost experimental, of educational intervention. The universe of study was composed of 66 old men and women belonging to these university classes in the municipality of Bauta. A simple aleatory sampling was made, and the sample was composed of 36 subjects after applying inclusion, exclusion and exit criteria. Ethics was respected throughout the whole process. Conclusions. Once the intervention program was implemented, it was possible to positively modify the knowledge of sexual diversity in these old men and women. The program turned out to be effective, because more than the third part was evaluated of excellent, well and fair when concluding. Recommendations are made.
