ABSTRACT
Introduction: Cancer in the world puts up with to changes of ways of life with an increasing tendency an alarming rhythm as a consequence of the increase and aging of the population, associate; that he makes necessary embracing efficacious strategies on the subject of prevention and early detection to put a halt to disease urgently. In Cuba constitute important health problem. Objectives: Characterizing the mortality for cancer like second and first cause in Havana, 2009-2013. Methods: It came true epidemiologic investigation observational descriptive and retrospective. The deceases considered according to international classification of diseases were data processed of the Statistics Department of the Management of Health and relating to mortality they calculated the rates for fatal causes and specific rates that showed up in the text and graphics. Results: The mortality for malignant tumors according to the main fatal causes during the five year period put up with itself regularly occupying the first place in almost all the municipalities and the age brackets. Findings: I occupy the second place in the picture of general health of deceases right after being displaced by heart diseases.
