Characterization on the teaching of Natural and Traditional Medicine with the students of the sixth year of Medicine

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the mission of the contemporary University is to form human resources that respond to the demands of the society, for what is indispensable to evaluate the quality of the educational process continually. Objective: to describe the approaches of the students in connection with the educational process Natural and Traditional Medicine(TNM) like part of the process of evaluation of all academic activity of the medicine career. Methods: I study descriptive, observational and traverse, with 1116 students of sixth year of the career of medicine of the Ability of Medical Sciences Enrique Goatherd, of September 2000 to June 2014 two educational. Two questionnaires were used, a model proposed by the commission of certification of the centers of Natural and Traditional Medicine, and the other one the method of CORT, with this last one the positive, negative and interesting approaches of the students were measured. The used variables; organization and operation of the educational process, on the available means for the teaching and the approaches that each student emitted. Results: It was obtained that most of the students consider that the teaching of NTM of the course was good, and that they are topics of utility for its formation. Conclusions: the students had the approach that in the process of teaching of NTM it is important the integration of the contents which contribute new knowledge and performance ways before the social responsibility of the university and the new change that it demands the society from being an integral professional.
