ABSTRACT
The need to collect and organize all the information generated from these sequencing projects led to the creation in 1973 of the first Protein Data Bank database, still in force, which stores protein structure determined by X-ray crystallography. Health professionals to face the challenges that medical care will pose in the scenario of cellular and molecular medicine in which they will play, inexorably goes through the incorporation of bioinformatics to their education.
