ABSTRACT
Introduction: The National Institute of Workers' Health (INSAT) of Cuba is an entity of Science, Technology and Innovation, qualified as a research centre and also a national and World and Pan-American Health Organizations referent in Occupational Health. Its mission and principal functions are related with the guarantee of the increasing workforce of the country. The Research and Teaching Department is in charge of the management and control of those activities. Development: It is being showed the performance of the principal indicators related with researching and teaching of 201-2015 triennium, emphasizing the projects and scientific and technical results, production and potential, with the support of the informatics' and information management, an important source of spreading through the Cuban Journal of Health and Work and a sustained work designed to the introduction and generalization of the results, beginning with a distinguished labour in the activity of the Science and Technical Forum. Conclusions: The Institute revitalizes its´ work in function to develop researching in favour of workers´ health and according with news kinds of employing, reorients its´ action toward all the labour groups, especially those prioritized of industry and services and develops and specializes its´ human resources to face up the challenges of problematic like aging and climatic change, complying with tasks that imposes the new economic model of the society.
