Cloud computing, a vision for health in Cuba

ABSTRACT
Introduction. The Cloud Computing or "Cloud Computing" (in English), is a relatively new concept and is recognized as one of the most important advances in computing, important pillar of the fourth industrial revolution, the digital revolution. Objective. Identify the fundamental concepts that operate under the term "Cloud Computing", its characteristics, services, advantages and disadvantages in general and its applicability in the strategy of computerization of Cuban public health. Method. A bibliographic review is carried out on the concepts of "cloud computing", the strategies, processes and actions carried out for the computerization of the health sector Results. Concepts, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages are exposed, such as security and privacy of information. In health, it offers a set of advantages that make it attractive for decision makers, developers and computer users. In the process of computerization of the National Health System in Cuba, since its initial conception the germs of Cloud Computing are present, which has its finished expression in SISalud, Platform of Services that supports and guarantees in a simple and efficient way the access to services, systems and centralized applications in Infomed. It is concluded that although SISalud can not be characterized as a typical Cloud if it contains the principles and elements that identify it and can be set up as the Services Cloud for the National Health System, which will be support for the deployment and use of the Electronic Health Record in the country.
