ABSTRACT
Introduction: The Havana University of Medical Sciences and the Provincial Division of Health, advised by the National School of Public Health have maintained the systematic implementation of this Diploma since 2004, responding to a necessity of preparing and training health system cadres in political ideological aspects and administration. Objective: To identify the utility of the Diploma according to the opinion of the students. Method: Descriptive, longitudinal, prospective study in 476 students involved in Health Management Diploma in Havana, from 2009 to 2016, representing 70, 0% (680) of the cadres and registered personnel. The information was picked up through a selfadministered questionnaire and descriptive statistical methods were used. Results: The students considered that the Diploma surpassed their expectations, with correspondence among the changes of knowledge, motivations, expectations and positive valuations. 381 students discussed the project considering it useful for their work, 476 students recognized the relevancy of the Diploma, and other 286 students considered that Management subject should be deepened. Conclusions: Most of the students increased their knowledge. They consider the Diploma useful for the system.
