ABSTRACT
Pituitary abscess is a rare condition; it represent 0.6% of neurosurgical pathologies
sellar. Preoperative diagnosis is difficult because there is no characteristic clinical
picture. It may be associated with a pre-existing injury pituitary or primary way in
a healthy gland. We present the case of a male patient 56 years old with a history
of diabetes mellitus and hypertension, who presented with retroocular headache,
nausea, vomiting and cavernous sinus syndrome.
