ABSTRACT
We present the case report of a 16-year-old male patient with a prenatal, perinatal and postnatal positive history where Emery Dreifuss's Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis and Muscular Dystrophy is diagnosed. It is important to identify the disease to initiate regular cardiac controls and to establish a specific rehabilitation program since the prognosis of the disease depends on the state of the heart and the functional level in which the patient is at the time of diagnosis. The aim of this review was to describe some typical findings in Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy. It can be concluded that a rehabilitation program to delay complications, maintain functional capacity and improve quality of life is of vital importance in these patients.
