Quality of life in the work of health professionals from a basic health unit

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Quality of life in the work is a global component of the worker's life and essential for the satisfaction with work and life. Objective: Assess the quality of life of health professional from Delson Pinheiro de Aguiar Basic Health Unit in Serranopolis, Minas. Methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional study and quantitative survey with 12 health professionals, in the period from March to April 2015, by means of an interview adapted to Watson's satisfaction model (1973). Results: We found a predominance of the female sex (66.7 %), at ages buttes 20 and 50 years, most of them were married (75 %), as well as complete higher education professionals (58.4 %), incomes ranged between a minimum of up to the salary of three or more. Global mean satisfaction was 2.83 (± 0.81), a value indicating that these professionals are not satisfied but quite dissatisfied. Conclusion: The professionals need better working conditions, opportunities for growing within the institutions, and secureness for maintaining their employments, in order to positively contribute to improve the institution's and community's image, as well as the quality of the services.
