ABSTRACT
Introduction: Knowledge management in organizations is limited, if its personal management is not hierarchical. Adopting new skills and habits in the management of computer tools that facilitate the management of knowledge in the personal sphere is essential for the subsequent socialization of this knowledge throughout the organization. Objectives: To create and implement a procedure, by Firefox and its add-ons, that improves the efficiency of the personal knowledge management process when browsing the web. Methods: The descriptive method was used to analyze the difficulties that some people present when navigating and managing knowledge from the web; and the method of documentary analysis was used to investigate if there is any solution to the difficulties found. Results: A procedure was implemented, which, through a selected set of add-ons that integrate with the browser Firefox, improves the speed and efficiency of personal knowledge management process in the web. Conclusions: Personal knowledge management is of vital interest to organizations, since the exchange and socialization of this knowledge will enable the institution to appropriate this knowledge and support teaching, research and technological innovation processes. Given the great amount of knowledge to be acquired and analyzed, it is necessary to foresee the adoption of new skills and habits in the use of computer tools that allow the quick and efficient performance of the personal knowledge management process in the web.
