Cutaneous Angiomyolipoma

ABSTRACT

Angiomyolipoma is a rare benign mesenchymal tumor composed of blood vessels, smooth muscle and mature adipose tissue, usually located in the kidney and associated with tuberous sclerosis. Tumours with similar characteristics have been described in different organs and recently some cases localized in the skin under the term cutaneous angiomyolipoma. We report a palmar tumor in a 35-year-old woman, in wich the histopathologic study disclosed the definitory components to classify it as angiomyolipoma.
