ABSTRACT
The multiple myeloma is a progressive and fatal illness, characterize for accumulation of wicked plasmatic cells in the bony marrow, detection of a monoclonal seric protein in urine, anemia, renal failure, skeletal destruction with osteolytics lesions, pathological fractures and bony pain. This illness embraces a latent or indolent located spectrum (plasmocitoma) and that it can remain this way per years, until transforming in aggressive, with disseminated forms, with cellular infiltration of several organs. The diagnosis is based on the combination of pathological, clinical and radiological features. This is a study that was carried in the service of Orthopedics of the Hospital Juarez of Mexico in twelve patients with the diagnosis of multiple myeloma, seven men and five women, of 50 to 70 years of age, a 60 years average, with the problem of medullary or radicular compression for invasion of the tumor toward the raquis. Assisted of January of the 2002 to December of the 2003 a groups of radiological, clinical and pathological studies combine to provide the approach diagnosis of myeloma of plasmatic cells (it requires of a bigger approach and a minor, or three minor).
