ABSTRACT
Introduction: the curricular strategy of English language is indispensable in the integral formation of medical sciences professionals. The virtual environments constitute an effective way for scientific knowledge formation of students, professors and health professionals.Objective: to evaluate the criteria of students and professors about the application of the curricular strategy of English language by virtual environments at Mayabeque faculty of medical sciences.
Methods: theoretical methods were used such as analytic and synthetical, historical and logical inductive and deductive to arrive at conclusions about the curricular strategies, the advantages of the use of the virtual environments in the teaching and learning processes of the different disciplines and the teaching of English applying communicative methods. As empirical methods, observation, surveys to professors and students, and interviews to teaching leaders of the faculty and experienced professors in medical education were used for obtaining the information.
Results: interviews and surveys showed the importance of the use of virtual environments for the implementation of the curricular strategy of English language.
Conclusions: the students and professors’ criteria about the implementation of the curricular strategy of English language by virtual environments showed that this work is pertinent, important and adequate for the updating of knowledge related to the careers of health professionals, besides, it revealed a high level of satisfaction.
