Results. Average age was 58.4 years old (range 39-69 years). The average operative time was 37.5 minutes. The average transoperative bleeding was 50 cc. At 2 and 6 monts respectively 81.8 % and 90.8% patients were free of urinary stress incontinence. At 12 months 90.8% still remained free of urinary stress incontinence.
Conclusion. The free tension suburethral sling technique with polypropylene for urinary stress incontinence renders a high success rate. It is a the procedure safe, efficient, inexpensive, easily applied, and with minimum complications.
