ABSTRACT
Objective: To determine in a group of family physicians in Guadalajara, Mexico, their opinion about the Patient-Centered Clinical Method (PCCM) and the Family Health Study (FSH).
Methods: A survey of 80 family physicians and family medicine residents was conducted. The sample was non-random. The data were analyzed using frequencies,
χ
2, and linear regression.
Results: 77.5% of the respondents knew the FHS, and 40% knew the PCCM. The difference was statistically significant. The favorable opinions were 54.8% for the FHS and 90.3% for the PCCM. Adverse opinions were 3.3% for the PCCM and 38.7% for the FSH. The di-fferences were statistically significant.
Conclusions: The FSH is better known than the PCCM; but opinions favor the PCCM.
