A bibliometric study of the articles published in the Revista de Información Científica Journal (RIC) of the Medical University of Guantanamo corresponding to the years 2006 to 2014 was carried out, with the objective of analyzing the behavior of the scientific production of the medical community during this period. The universe was composed of all articles published in the ordinary issues of the magazine of that period and the sample was made up of the 77 published articles, which had the presence of professionals. The bibliometric indicators were used: scientific articles per year, type of article, number of authors, center of origin and educational category. Predominated the original articles. The years 2012 and 2013 were the most productive. Scientific articles predominated with five authors. The professionals of the General Teaching Hospital “Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja” and those of the Branch of Medical Sciences are the ones that publish the most.
