ABSTRACT
At present, the university education has enough reasons to enter in the formation of informational competences. Higher education institutions are called upon to develop courses on information literacy to be included in the curriculum. Medical universities recognize that the teaching training of professionals lacks appropriate programs to teach the use of techniques and tools necessary for the selection, search and retrieval of information sources and resources. The experience of the last years at Villa Clara University of Medical Sciences confirms the limited presence of the informational component in the curriculum of the students; For this reason, the professorship of Information and Knowledge Management (IKM), settled in the Provincial Center for Information on Medical Sciences, has undertaken various actions to promote and increase the presence of informational content in the teaching activities of students.REFERENCES
