ABSTRACT
We present a case report of sialolithiasis and its surgical treatment. We underline the importance of the clinical signs and ancillary diagnostic studies as well as an interdisciplinary dentistry interaction. Introduction: The anatomical and physiological characteristics of the salivary glands, the composition of saliva and its role contribute to stone formation. Report a case: Report of a clinical case of sialolithiasis in the path of the left submandibular duct, as well as the surgical procedure for its enucleation. The report of the histopathological result confirmed the diagnosis of sialolithiasis. Discussion: Clinical manifestations, signs, symptoms and imaging studies are the main tools to carry out a clinical diagnosis of sialolithiasis.
