ABSTRACT
It is a presentation whose brief overview of information is aimed at encouraging the graduates of two types of masters on psychotherapy of addictions and psychoanalytic of an educational institution. It refers to the desirable characteristics of the students, the biopsychosocial context, today’s developments in research, the usefulness of this knowledge applied in the context of conditions in the country with respect to its exercise. It describes the didactic spirit of the addiction’s psychiatry concept applicable to the psychotherapy and its proposal, which strengthens the training and updating clinics of health personnel towards the “best practices” in the absence of a national program against dependence disorders and co-occurring mental disorders. It calls for the acquisition of knowledge and technique, understanding and tolerance, ethics and respect for the patient in a commitment to genuine participation.
