NephroWeb: an alternative for the professional training of nephrology-geriatric care

ABSTRACT
Introduction: postgraduate training from the Primary Health Care in function of geriatric patients who suffer from nephrological diseases lacks of teaching methods to instruct these specialists properly, enabling the acquisition of knowledge and the development of skills from a tutorial and developer approach, there are shortcomings in the application of theoretical and practical criteria in the management of chronic kidney disease. Objective: to design a piece of teaching aids, contributing this way to the process of professional training in the care of geriatric patients suffering from nephrological diseases. Method: it was based on a technological innovation project, in postgraduate area, starting from an exploratory study, in the period from May 1, 2015 to April 30, 2016. A tutorial type web site was completed using the Pinegrow Web Editor tool - 2.5. The criteria of experts were applied and validated. Results: the information-technological tool consisted of several sessions that allowed the grouping of theoretical knowledge about Nephrological geriatric care in the postgraduate area, which included the access to books, theses, protocols, interviews to experts and instruction guidelines. Conclusion: the educational software contributes to the development of intellectual abilities, motivation of the professionals and the assimilation of contents in an accessible way.
