ABSTRACT
Introduction: The teaching function of nursing professionals is characterized by high complexity, as the volume of scientific-technical knowledge and the general culture of society grows. Objective: to carry out the design of the educational program to guarantee the improvement of the teaching performance of the nursing professionals. Methods: For the proposal, part of the identification of the educational problems that are presented in the teaching performance of the nursing professionals responsible for the training of the students and the identification of the pedagogical skills. The main methods used were: documentary analysis, modeling and system approach, which allowed. Results: the nursing professionals who fulfill teaching functions designed an educational program in correspondence with the professional problems and for the development of pedagogical abilities. Conclusions: The program aims to update these professionals on aspects related to didactics, pedagogy, methodology of research, communication, among other aspects. In Cuba, there is no evidence to what extent the scope of the documentary review made by the authors that make a design for the development of pedagogical skills based on the educational problems presented in the teaching performance of the nursing professionals.REFERENCES
