ABSTRACT
The incidence of conjoined twins is 1: 50,000 pregnancies, the 18% corresponds to omphalopagus conjoined twins. We report to male omphalopagus twins. Gastrointestinal contrast studies showed independent gastrointestinal tract. Magnetic resonance imaging showed the isthmus occupied by transverse colon, small bowel and left hepatic lobe belonging to twin II, with independent gallbladder and billiary tree. Twin II shows evidence of intestinal obstruction, surgical separation and exploring laparotomy was made. Hepatic bridge was divided by harmonic bistoury. Twin II presents ileal stenosis, resection and ileal anastomosis was made. Both twins out come satisfactorily and were discharged from the hospital. Evaluation, management and treatment of these patients must not only be directed to planning separation, also the detection and management of the others malformations anomalies and pre-operative complications that are frequents in conjoined twins.REFERENCES
