ABSTRACT
Introduction: Thoracic Outlet syndrome it is define how the conjunct of symptoms and signs that affect to uppers extremities secondary to neuron-vascular compression (brachial nervous plexus, subclavious artery and/or venous) for the first rib, the anterior scalene muscle and the clavicle, to out of thoracic caveat (in the outlet thoracic zone), when to a head to uppers extremities, send specific causes of the compression: supernumerary cervical rib complete or incomplete, abnormalities of the rib first or of the clavicle, large transverse apophysis in C7, prominent osseous cay or displaced fracture of the clavicle and/or the rib first, congenital fibrous bands or anomalous muscles bands. Methods: It were made searches in the date’s bases in line in EBSCO, LiLaCS, Medline and the terminus MESH of search (Medical Subject Headings). It is describes aspects relation with the Thoracic Outlet syndrome, such as: clinical symptoms, classification, historic antecedents, anatomic recount, epidemiology and physiopathology, important in the diagnostic and treatment of the Thoracic Outlet syndrome. Conclusions: Thoracic Outlet Syndrome frequent pathology in the medical practice fundamentally in the specialty of orthopedic and traumatology and for the controversial in diagnostic`s emeriti the know of the development in this revisions article for to be more certain in the diagnostic, classification and (about all) in the determination of the causes that provokes for to be certain too in the treatment.
