ABSTRACT
A group of 30 female patients with a diagnosis of glandular eversion (ectropion) received medical treatment of an ovule with 36 mg of ketanserin daily. Patients that had a colposcopy or a Papanicolaou which suggested human papilloma virus, intraepithelial cervical neoplasia or with ulcers of undetermined etiology were excluded from the trial. The rate cure in 5 weeks of patients with less than 50% of the surface of the cervix affected was 96%. The patients report tolerance to the medication with only 17% of pruritus in the first days of treatment. None of the participants withdraw from the trial due to adverse events. The results show that the dose of a daily ovule of ketanserin during 10 days is a good selection to help healing of the lesion due to glandular eversion.REFERENCES
