ABSTRACT
Bartholin's cysts are common problems in women at reproductive age. Abscesses are three times more common than cysts. Most Bartholin's cysts reach a diameter from 1 to 4 cm, and are usually asymptomatic. A 27-year-old female patient is reported with a giant cyst measuring 11 x 9 x 5.6 cm. She is presented with volume increase in the vulvovaginal region, discomfort during intercourse, accompanied by mild pain. She was operated at Heroes del Baire General Teaching Hospital in Nueva Gerona, Isla de la Juventud, where she presented an immediate postoperative complication, a hematoma to the operative site, but finally she has a satisfactory evolution. The motivation for this report is its infrequent onset and the existence in Cuba of a few reports only. The role of primary health care and the common onset of this disease make it lose value and importance; however, the necessary practice of differential diagnosis for this disease emphasizes the importance of this case report.REFERENCES
