ABSTRACT
The following research, makes reference to the resilient family beliefs in the construction of the meaning of the birth of two members with disabilities in a middle class family from the city of Tepic, Nayarit. Starting from a qualitative approach, it explores how, based on the family resilience proposal raised by Walsh (2004). This family, through their beliefs, gets to the contruction of the meaning for disability, a meaning that can resiliently allow the family deals with the experience of the birth of two members with disabilities. Situation that requires not only the use the skillfulness to solve all disability related demands, but also the capacity to overcome the impact of having had in two occations, members with disabilites. Therefore, through the creation of a meaning sustained in family resilience, plenty of these families with two members with disabilies, can be helped when they confront this life experience.
