ABSTRACT
In the elderly, entropion is usually caused by muscle spasm and weakening of the canals that support the eyelid. Surgical techniques in entropion surgery vary according to the etiology of the entropion. A study was performed in patients undergoing entropion surgery at the ocular plastic surgery service of the clinical surgical teaching hospital Celia Sánchez Manduley, in the months of January 2014 to January 2015, with the aim of describing the results of surgical treatment in patients with entropion Went to the eye surgery plastic surgery. The variables used were: age, sex, type of entropion, surgical result and complications. Male entropion predominated (65.21 %), on the female sex (34.78 %). The most affected ages were between 60 and 79 years (63.4 %), the surgical technique that was most performed was the intercrossing of the orbicularis. Complications only occurred in 5 eyes. The senile entropion is the most frequent. The surgical method is the only one that can definitively solve this problem, becoming an aesthetic and functional solution for patients.REFERENCES
