ABSTRACT
Objective: To report a case of congenital oculomotor apraxia in a 5 year-old patient.Method: We did ophthalmic and neurologic complete exploration in our 5 year-old patient, whom was incapable of moving the eyes laterally since she was 1 year-old.
Results: We found no ophthalmic or neurologic alterations. In primary position of gaze the patient was ortotropic but she was incapable of moving the eyes in dextroversion and levoversion.
Conclusions: Congenital oculomotor apraxia is an exclusion diagnosis. It´s a rare disease in which there has to be a complete and exhaustive ophthalmic and neurologic exploration to achieve the diagnosis.
