ABSTRACT

We present the case of 36 years old male that developed erythematous, infiltrated, pruritic plaques over a red ink tattoo located on the lateral aspect of his right arm. Histopathology showed macrophages engulfing red and black pigment and a band like lymphocytic infiltrate in the superficial dermis, compatible with lichenoid reaction to the tattoo. He received treatment with intralesional corticosteroids and oral colchicine, with resolution of his lesions.
