Immediate functional loading in the esthetic zone on an implant postextraction: prospective clinical study

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The implants in the esthetic zone are challenging demand function and aesthetics. Immediate implants are an alternative to recover teeth quickly and efficiently, keeping bone and soft tissue. The aim of this study was to evaluate the survival rate, marginal soft tissue and bone changes; and patient satisfaction, using functional immediate loading in the esthetic zone on postextraction implants.
Material and methods: The implants were placed in post-extraction sites with flapless surgery, functional immediately loaded at 24 hours. An alveolus a gap of about 2 mm with a bone filler received provisional functional and replaced by a definitive prosthesis six months. Survival rate, stability of soft tissue, bone loss was evaluated; and patient satisfaction. The marginal bone loss was assessed by radiographs to compare the mean and standard deviation (mean ± SD) both mesial and distal. Similarly in the soft tissues, the papillae and gingival recession (mean ± SD) and a satisfaction survey is performed.
Results: A survival rate of 100% is achieved. During follow-up there was stability of soft tissue with no recession (0.12 ± 0.15) and conservation of the papillae (0.017 ± 0.204). The level of bone loss implant at 12 months is 0.38 ± 0.64 mm, an average of 0.33 ± mesial and distal 0.26 mm 0.42 ± 0.20. 100% were satisfied with the results.
Conclusions: The results showed that the functional immediate loading of implants placed in postextraction sockets, could be considered a predictable procedure to preserve the hard and soft tissues year follow-up; improving satisfaction and comfort for the result.
