ABSTRACT
Background. In Mexico the number of death patients from bullet injuries has increased, but the number
of bullet embolism is minimal.
Objective. To know about the number of bullet embolism cases.
Material and methods. Examination of the number of death persons from 1990 through 2015 by
fire arms and the number of patients with bullet emboli published or at least informed by their surgeons.
Results. In 2008 the number of deaths from fire arms began to increase to reach 1,8197 cases in 2010;
in 2015 there were 12,659 deaths. In contrast the number or cases with bullet embolism is limited.
Conclusion. Despite the increase in the country of social violence and the use of fire arms, the number
of patients with bullet embolism is limited.
