ABSTRACT
Skin cancer has become a public health problem due to
its high incidence and the considerable percentage that
it occupies within the main malignant neoplasias. There
are several risk factors to develop this pathology, and
it was observed that exposure to UV rays is among the
most important. For its study, it is divided into two types:
melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, which in turn
is classified into basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma.
Most cases are preventable and respond well to treatment
when they are diagnosed promptly; it is, therefore, to be
considered a relevant topic within the medical practice.
