Relationship of nutrigenomics with eating behavior

ABSTRACT
Nutrigenomics studies the variability between individuals and
the influence that nutrients have on the level of gene expression.
This new approach aims to improve health and prevent
the development of chronic disease related to diet and lifestyle.
The feeding behavior involves actions that are beginning
to establish in humans from birth and that relate to food, and
to social and family environments, generating imitation of behavior
according to food availability, social status, the emotional
symbols and cultural traditions that have to do with
the development of eating behavior. Although nutrigenomics
association with eating behavior is relatively recent, this article presents a review of the current state of nutrigenomics
in studies related to feeding behavior and some eating
disorders and the association of polymorphisms in a single
nucleotide (SNP) with diseases related to the metabolism of
some nutrients acquired in the diet, as well as those epigenetic
change that can affect the body's response to the diet,
which are transmitted from generation to generation or are
acquired by food ingested.
