ABSTRACT
Biliary dyskinesia is a motility disorder of the gallbladder, which manifests with nausea and vomit, biliary type pain in the right upper quadrant that also can be referred as pain to the right infrascapular area. Biliary dyskinesia is diagnosed by the Rome III criteria and is confirmed by biliary scintigraphy. Cholecystokinin (CCK) plays a role in the development of biliary dyskinesia, in the irritable bowel syndrome and perhaps in the anxiety disorders and probably through the interaction between cholecystokinin and other neuronal systems, this neuropeptide can introduce its effects in the gastrointestinal system and anxiety disorders (or even dysautonomia) and the variety of clinical manifestations can be attributed to the compensatory capacity of each patient. This paper reports the clinical case of eight patients with biliary dyskinesia and combined symptoms.
